Living by the Three C's / How your choices affect the future

🌟 Sherry’s Words of Wisdom for Wednesday: Make the Right Choice 🌟

Have you ever heard of the Three C’s?

  • Circumstance

  • Choice

  • Consequence

It seems like in our world today, many people are more interested in the here and now than they are in the future. They make choices based entirely on what they want and what feels good right this second. Honestly, I believe that’s exactly why we see so many problems in our families and our governments today.

When we look at the people who build things that last, they always have their eyes on the horizon:

  • 🏛️ Our Forefathers tried to set up a government that would endure for centuries. They had to plan with future generations in mind.

  • 💡 Inventors design new machines and products thinking about the future—how their creation can help a multitude of people, not just themselves.

  • 🏡 Good Parents make daily decisions in the home that will guide their kids toward becoming healthy, happy adults. They don't just give in to the whims of a toddler; they are parenting for the child's future.

  • 💰 Financially Savvy People weigh the pros and cons before making a purchase. They want to know exactly how it will affect their financial future.

  • 🍎 Health-Minded People consider what they are fixing to put into their mouths because they want a specific, healthy outcome for their bodies.

🔄 Connecting the Dots

That is the core idea of the Three C’s.

You find yourself in a Circumstance. You have to make a Choice. Whichever choice you make determines the Consequence.

I grew up hearing the phrase, "...or face the consequences." Usually, it was a warning! But the truth is, consequences can be beautiful if the choices leading up to them are wise.

Whatever choices we make in life, we need to think of tomorrow. We need to ask ourselves:

  • How will this decision change the course of my life? * Will my choice affect my family? * Will it affect my health? * Will it affect my finances?

It’s entirely too easy to just think, "Well, I want it, so I’m going to get it!" We live in a highly selfish world, and we are conditioned to just do whatever strikes our fancy in the moment.

💭 Final Thoughts

I hope this post makes you think as much as it did me. I’m just as guilty of this as anyone else! But I want to be mature in my thinking. I want to be wise. I want to have a good outcome in my life, my health, my money, and my family.

In whatever circumstance you find yourself today, make the right choice, and enjoy the consequence!

Until next time,

Enjoy God's providence! 🌱
